A set of nine commemorative coins is dedicated to the spiritual and cultural monument of the Ukrainian people - the poem “Aeneid” by the outstanding Ukrainian writer Ivan Kotlyarevsky, who founded a new Ukrainian literature with this work. "The Aeneid" is written in living folk language; the life of Ukrainians is depicted in the broad context of language, history, customs, traditions and way of life. The unique individuality of the Ukrainian people is brilliantly captured by the author in cheerful, cheerful images - the Cossacks do not recognize the victory of either earthly or heavenly forces over themselves: nothing can break their patriotic, freedom-loving spirit. The composition of the set is based on illustrations by the People's Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Bazilevich, who with his works gave the work a new sound.
On the obverse of eight coins from the set there are: the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription UKRAINE (at the top); year of minting of the coin 2020 / denomination 10, at the zero of which is the graphic symbol of the hryvnia, the designation of the metal, its purity, the purity weight of the coin Ag 999, 31.1 and the logo of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (below); vertical inscriptions: I. KOTLYAREVSKY/ENEID. On the central coin of the set there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine (top right), under which is the inscription UKRAINE (vertically), denomination 10, at the zero of which is the graphic symbol of the hryvnia, the designation of the metal, its fineness, the fine weight of the coin Ag 999, 31.1 and the logo Banknote and Mint of the National Bank (bottom); on the left are vertical inscriptions in two lines: 1926 ARTIST/2005 ANATOLY BASILEVICH; top left - AENID. The obverse of each coin depicts scenes from the illustrations of “The Aeneid” by the artist Anatoly Bazilevich, processed and arranged by the authors of the coin design, who talentedly illustrated the humorous scenes of the poem and exalted with humor its travelers, warring, competing, fighting, feasting, having fun, feasting, feasting, having fun .
The reverse of the coins depicts elaborate and composed scenes from the illustrations of the Aeneid, the author of which achieved a striking unity of literary material and illustrative series, repeated the full-fledged Ukrainian epic created by Kotlyarevsky, and personified the entire spectrum of attitudes towards the heroes - from lyrics to sarriks. On the reverse of the middle coin of the right row of the set there is a picture of a Cossack in a red outfit - pad printing was used (on the left), to the right of which there is a portrait of Ivan Kotlyarevsky, under which there are inscriptions: 1769 1838/ I. KOTLYAREVSKY/ENEID/DRAWINGS/A. BASILEVICH. On the reverse of the six coins of the left and middle rows of the set, against the background of illustrated plots of the poem, there are fragments consisting of the figure of the Cossack Aeneas; on the central coin there is a color image of the Cossacks (pad printing was used).
