The commemorative coin is dedicated to the Eurasian Risa. The 30-kilometer exclusion zone and the zone of unconditional resettlement, in which the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve has been operating since April 26, 2016, have turned into a kind of reserve for the breeding of not only typical, but also rare representatives of the animal world listed in the Red Book. Among these representatives is a species that is not so easy to find in the wild – the lynx. In the past, the lynx was a common predator in Polesie. But as a result of the development of forests and direct persecution by people back in the 19th century. the lynx has become a rare animal. Eurasian lynx - the species is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, Appendix II of the Berne Convention on the Conservation of Wild Flora and Fauna and Natural Habitats in Europe, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

On the obverse of the coin there are: the small State Emblem of Ukraine (above), the inscription: UKRAINE (under the coat of arms); coin denomination – 5/HRYVEN (to the right of the coat of arms); in the center there is a symbolic wheel of life, marking the rebirth of nature: a stylized international sign “Radiation Threat”, shrouded in leaves, around which animals whose populations develop in the 30-kilometer exclusion zone have become a kind of breeding reserve, in particular the black stork, horse, lynx , bison, elk, brown bear; in a circle, on a mirror background, the inscription: CHORNOBYL RADIATION AND ECOLOGICAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (left), CHORNOBYL RADIATION AND ECOLOGICAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE; year of minting – 2023 (below); logo of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank (above).

On the reverse of the coin, against the background of a landscape, a lynx is depicted (pad printing is used), above which on the left on a mirror background there are the inscriptions: RICE/EURASIAN/EURASIAN LYNX; at the top are lynx and lynx cubs.
