Dedicated to one of the oldest technical universities with a glorious history - the National University "Lviv Polytechnic", which is a powerful center of science and education, a generator of ideas and inventions.
On the obverse of the coin there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine (above), an inscription in a semicircle NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, allegorical sculptures symbolizing sciences and arts are depicted, placed on the university building, denomination and year of minting: 5/HRIVEN/2010.
The reverse of the coin depicts the main building of the university, built in the last third of the 19th century. designed by architect Julian Zakharevich. Above the building in a semicircle is the inscription LITTERIS * ET * ARTIBVS (Sciences and Arts), which is located on the building itself. There are inscriptions around the circle: NATIONAL UNIVERSITY `LVIV POLYTECHNIC`, below - 165/YEARS.
