Dedicated to the Ukrainian poetess, playwright, translator, literary critic and public figure – Lesya Ukrainka (Larissa Petrovna Kosach). Lesya Ukrainka is one of the greatest Ukrainian word artists. The multifaceted talent of the writer manifested itself in a variety of genres - lyrics, period, drama, prose, journalism. Her work is filled with deep patriotic feelings for Ukraine.
On the obverse of the coin there are: at the top the inscription UKRAINE, to the right of which is the small State Emblem of Ukraine; and a composition symbolizing the bright, emotional, rich world of Lesya Ukrainka’s poetry: on the left, on a mirror background, images of a man and a woman stylized as candles; on the right is the key of the cranes, above which the denomination and year of minting of the coin is 20/HRIVEN/2021.
On the reverse of the coin, against a background of stylized branches with leaves, there is a portrait of Lesya Ukrainka; on the left – years of life 1871/1913; inscriptions: LESYA/UKRAINKA (under the portrait), L. KOSACH-FLOWER/ (IN LITERATURE LESYA UKRAINKA) (facsimile of Lesya Ukrainka).
