A 1995 coin from the Isle of Man maritime series, devoted to the sailing regatta and the yachts racing for San Diego. The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea. Its crowns are legal tender on the island but are not released into circulation: they are coins made for collectors from the outset, struck by the private British Pobjoy Mint. The obverse bears a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Maritime subjects come naturally to an island set in the middle of the Irish Sea and run through its whole coin programme.
