A collectible coin made of silver, made with a special level of proof minting quality, dedicated to the Year of the Dog, according to the eastern calendar, which is based on the twelve-year cycle of the planet Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system.
The obverse of the coin is divided horizontally into three fields by two arcuate lines. The middle field with a mirror background, on the left and right sides is framed by a stylized ornament of plants, made in the style of techno-primitivism, between the left and right ornaments there are inscriptions: in the upper part, in semicircular ligature, the inscription - “UKRAINE” (UKRAINE), on the lower border of the middle field, indicated by a two-line inscription in a semicircle, the denomination of the coin is “5 / HRYVEN” (5 / HRYVEN). On the upper field, in the middle, there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which along the perimeter of the obverse there is an inscription in a semicircle - “NATIONAL BANK”. On the lower field, under the border of the middle field, there are images and inscriptions: in the middle, the sign of the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine, at the left outer edge, - in one line, the designation of the precious metal and its fineness, - “Ag 925”, along the right outer edge, indicated the mass of silver in purity is “15.55”. In the center of the lower field is the year of issue of the coin - “2006”.
The reverse of the coin is divided horizontally by arcuate lines into three fields. In the center of the middle field, a large image of a dog in popular print style is surrounded on the left and right by stylized plant designs. On the upper and lower fields, on an arched border with the middle field, there are 12 outline figures of all the symbols of the eastern calendar. On the lower field with a mirror background there is a two-line inscription in a semicircle - “YEAR / DOGS” (РІК /DOGS).
