The polymer ten dirhams brings together two very different symbols of the UAE: the front shows the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a religious, national and cultural landmark, and the reverse the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, one of the unique cultural landmarks of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The polymer ten entered circulation on 21 April 2022, followed five days later by the five. The paper ten dirhams remained legal tender. This note is dated 2022, the year the type appeared.
Raised Braille symbols help blind and visually impaired users identify the note. It belongs to the third series of UAE currency, together with the polymer 50 dirhams of 2021.
For an architecture collection it offers two buildings on one note, a mosque and an amphitheatre, and for a UAE collection it is the country’s first polymer ten. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
