A flag in a circle, the name BÜYÜK TİMUR İMPARATORLUĞU and the dates 1368–1501: this coin is dedicated to the Timurid Empire and belongs to the 2015 Great Turkic States series.
The Turkish presidential standard bears 16 stars, and by a tradition accepted in the country each stands for one of the great Turkic states, from the Xiongnu to the Ottoman Empire. The Turkish State Mint dedicated a 1 kuruş coin to each of them, with its flag, name, dates and the inscription BÜYÜK TÜRK DEVLETLERİ.
Darphane put the series on sale on 25 January 2016; each coin has a mintage of 300,000, and 29,863 pieces of this coin were sold within the country. For a 1 kuruş denomination the coin is unusually large: 32 mm in diameter and 12 g.
The coin fills the Timurid Empire place in the series and complements collections on the history of the Turkic peoples. Uncirculated (UNC) condition means the coin has never been in circulation: there is no wear and the mint lustre is intact.
