In the National Bank of Tajikistan’s official table for the 2011 coins, the material of the 1 and 2 dirams is recorded differently from the other dirams: «steel-copper-brass» rather than «copper-brass». The 2 dirams belongs to that junior pair: a steel core under a brass plating, 16 mm across and weighing 1.6 g.
The design is shared across the series: the obverse bears the state coat of arms of Tajikistan and the legend «Jumhurii Tojikiston» with the date, the reverse the denomination «2 DIRAM». The coin was struck by the Kazakhstan Mint.
In the seven-denomination 2011 set the 2 dirams fills the place between the 1 and 5 dirams. The AU-UNC grade means the coin has practically not circulated: mint lustre is present and at most minimal rubbing may show on the highest points of the relief.
At VPcoins you will find coins for a collection, for a gift, or simply for the pleasure of owning them.
