The 5 baisa of 2015 is the smallest coin of the series with which Oman marked its 45th National Day: forty-five years of the rule of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who came to power in the summer of 1970.

The reverse of this series drops the large numeral usual on Omani small change. At its centre is the emblem in a circle, surrounded by a geometric pattern, the number «٤٥» and the inscription «العيد الوطني الخامس والاربعون المجيد», «the glorious forty-fifth National Day». The value moves to the obverse, where it appears twice, in English and Arabic, as «5 BAISA» and «٥ بيسة», alongside «SULTANATE OF OMAN» and the name «قابوس بن سعيد».

The anniversary baisa circulated alongside the regular ones and were also gathered into sets for collectors. The copper-red 5 baisa opens that row and is essential for a complete 2015 series.

In UNC grade the coin never circulated: no wear, mint lustre intact, with only minor storage marks possible.
