The 2025 Somali ounce keeps its obverse simple: SOMALI REPUBLIC, the arms dividing the year and the denomination 100 SHILLINGS. The reverse, as every year since 2004, is new, because the «African Wildlife» elephant series never repeats a design, and that is exactly why collectors pursue it by date.

The circular legend AFRICAN WILDLIFE · ELEPHANT and the line 1 oz Ag 999.9 stay constant, the issuer stating on the coin that it contains a troy ounce of .9999 fine silver. The 2025 design is devoted to elephants, the animals that gave the series its name.

The arms on the obverse deserve a closer look. Adopted in 1956, they show a blue shield with a silver five-pointed star beneath a gold mural crown, held by two leopards standing on crossed spears and palm fronds. The leopard is a common motif in Somali culture, and on this coin it keeps company with the elephant as a second emblem of African wildlife.

Graded UNC: never circulated, free of wear, with full mint lustre. For a date run it is the newest, twenty-second year of the series.
