The Goat is the eighth sign of the Chinese zodiac, and on San Marino’s 2024 ten euros it continues the «Lunar Calendar» series after the Horse, with the Monkey following. This trio was released on 5 September 2024.

On the reverse the goat is joined by the Italian CAPRA, the year, the value 10 EURO and the sign’s name in a Chinese character, while the red colour sets the coin apart from ordinary copper-nickel issues. The obverse stays common to the whole series: three stylised towers of San Marino with plumes, laurel and oak on either side and the sun emerging from the clouds. Both sides are by Orietta Rossi.

The mintage was 20,000 pieces, struck by the Austrian Mint; all twelve coins of the series can be gathered in a dedicated collector’s case. Grade UNC: never circulated, relief and colour free of wear.

The VPcoins catalogue includes both modern commemorative issues and coins of past eras.
