A snake on a branch: that is how the artist V.V. Mamkova rendered the symbol of 2025 on the tenth coin of Transnistria’s «Chinese Horoscope» series. The rouble was released on 25 November 2024, ahead of the Year of the Snake.

The centre of the reverse shows a stylised snake on a branch; at lower left is the Chinese character for the sign of the year with «2025» beneath it, and «GOD ZMEI» (Year of the Snake) runs around the top. The obverse carries the arms of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the denomination, the name of the bank and the issue date «2024».

The series has been following the twelve-year cycle of the Eastern calendar since 2015, when the Monkey appeared, followed by the Rooster, Dog, Boar, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit and Dragon. Issuer catalogue number 10400-01-09010, mintage 35,000.

In a date run of the series the Snake sits between the Dragon, issued in November 2023, and the Horse of 2025; in a set of Eastern zodiac signs it is the coin for those born in a Year of the Snake.

UNC condition: the coin has never circulated, there is no wear and the mint lustre is intact; minor storage marks are possible.
