A little fox trotting through the forest with a present in its paw, hurrying to celebrate the arrival of a newborn: this is the scene on the 2025 5 euro coin from the new Monnaie de Paris collection «My First Coin».

The collection was conceived as a gift for a child’s birth, christening or another milestone: a first coin to be handed down through the generations. On the packaging four little animals, a fox, a rabbit, a mouse and a bear, share their adventures, and a small mouse recurs as a motif on the reverse of every coin in the collection. The year on the coin ties it to the date of the occasion.

The fox is the hero of the first edition. Besides the bimetallic coin, the 2025 collection includes a mini set and a coloured silver 5 euro coin in proof quality, and in 2026 a pure gold coin was added. The bimetallic coin has a mintage of 25 000 and comes in a gift card.

In UNC grade the coin has never circulated: relief and field are free of wear. In a «coins for children» collection, it is the piece that opens a new Monnaie de Paris series.
