The 1995 100 fils bears the Hijri date 1415: it was struck under Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who led Bahrain from 1961 and took the country through independence in 1971.
This is the bimetallic type introduced in 1992: copper-nickel centre, brass ring, the state coat of arms with «دولة البحرين» and «STATE OF BAHRAIN» on the obverse, and «100 فلس» in a box within a chain border on the reverse. On this type the last letter of the Arabic word is stylised; later issues replaced it with ordinary lettering.
The type was struck until 2001 with several dates, and 1995 is one of the intermediate entries in the run. The coin suits both collectors of bimetallic coins worldwide and those assembling coins of Emir Isa’s reign.
F-VF condition: circulation wear is visible on the high points, while the arms, legend and dates remain clearly legible.
