The Ran Dhihafaheh series, «Golden 50», was issued for the fiftieth anniversary of Maldivian independence: it is the first entirely new family of Maldivian money in more than thirty years, and all its values are printed by De La Rue on Safeguard polymer.
The ten's theme is «our culture»: on the front a toddy tapper climbs a coconut palm while people behind him play the traditional boduberu drums. The back shows the country's oldest drum, kept in the National Museum.
The key feature of this issue is the rufiyaa sign: the currency symbol, officially unveiled by the MMA in July 2022, stands before the numeral of the value on both sides. This piece is dated 31 July 2025 and signed by Ahmed Munawar, who took charge of the MMA exactly a year earlier.
For a Maldives collection this is the lowest value of the Ran Dhihafaheh series as first issued, and for a music theme it has boduberu drums on both sides in its latest variety, with the rufiyaa sign and Munawar's signature. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Banknotes from the VPcoins catalogue are collected by seasoned collectors and newcomers alike.
