The Ran Dhihafaheh series, «Golden 50», was issued for the fiftieth anniversary of Maldivian independence: it is the first entirely new family of Maldivian money in more than thirty years, and all its values are printed by De La Rue on Safeguard polymer.
The twenty's theme is «industrial and economic progress»: a fisherman carries skipjack and yellowfin tuna, a jet takes off from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport above him, a cowrie shell lies nearby, and islands and reefs seen from the air form the background. The back, turned vertically, is given entirely to a dhoni sailing boat.
This piece comes from the issue dated 1 July 2020 with the signature of governor Ali Hashim: the second date of the twenty after the original one of 2015, signed by Azeema Adam.
For a Maldives collection this is a piece of the anniversary polymer series, and for «aviation» and «fishing» themes it puts an aircraft and a tuna on one sheet, in its second date with Ali Hashim's signature. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Banknotes from the VPcoins catalogue are collected by seasoned collectors and newcomers alike.
