Kyrgyz kurosh, belt wrestling and one of the oldest national sports, is the subject of the square 1 som of 2020 from the series «World Nomad Games». The National Bank put the coin into circulation on 1 December 2020.

The side with the denomination shows wrestlers locked in a bout before spectators, yurts and mountains, the World Nomad Games logo and the caption «Кыргыз күрөш / Kyrgyz Kurosh». The other side has a spiral pattern symbolising the solar system with stylised scenes of national games, wrestlers and the coat of arms in the centre, and the legends «Дүйнөлүк көчмөндөр оюндары» and «World nomad games 2020».

The coin is square with rounded corners and had a mintage of 5,000. A silver version with the same design was issued at the same time. The bank released its copper-nickel coins in a capsule on blister packaging, and this example comes in that presentation.

Together with «Ulak tartysh» of 2018 the coin forms a pair of square som coins on the World Nomad Games, a notable piece for a sports collection. UNC condition: never circulated, no wear, full mint lustre.

At VPcoins you will find coins for a collection, for a gift, or simply for the pleasure of owning them.
