The undated 1000 francs of the Central Bank of the Comoros was issued, according to Numista, in 1986 and 1994 with different signatures; a note with the index P11b belongs to the 1994 issue.
The front shows a portrait of a young Comorian woman on the right, palm trees and a seashore with mountains in the centre, and the legends «BANQUE CENTRALE DES COMORES» and «MILLE FRANCS»; the watermark area is on the left.
The back shows the ylang-ylang harvest: a woman picking the flowers while two more carry baskets on their heads; there is an Arabic legend at the top and a French warning against counterfeiting at lower right.
The note was printed by the Banque de France, with a watermark of a crescent on a Maltese cross. Ylang-ylang, a raw material for perfume, is the islands’ hallmark, so the note fits both a Comoros collection and a «flowers on banknotes» selection. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
