The Colombian 1000 pesos of 2024 is one of the later dates of the «Turtle», issued since 2012 as the top coin of the family dedicated to the country’s biodiversity.

The loggerhead side bears «TORTUGA CAGUAMA», the scientific name «Caretta caretta» in microtext and the word «AGUA» repeated seven times. The other side carries «1000 PESOS», «REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA» and the appeal «CUIDAR EL AGUA». The loggerhead migrates over vast distances and nests on both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts of Colombia.

Security is built into the metal and relief: a ring and core of different colours, a latent image showing «MIL» or «BRC», and an edge with deep grooves. For a date run of the 1000 pesos and a marine-life collection, the 2024 coin is a current position in the series.

Grade UNC: the coin has not circulated, shows no wear and keeps its mint lustre.
