Gemstones and the national coat of arms on the face, the cocoa harvest on the back: the Ghanaian 1000 cedis of 1999 continues a design familiar from the notes of the early 1990s.
On the back, men cut cocoa pods with machetes. The Bank of Ghana issued this type (P32) from sheets dated 5 December 1996 and printed it for several years; the sheet of 1 July 1999 is one of its dates.
For a Ghana collection the note pairs with the 1000 cedis P29 of the same design, and in a thematic set on cocoa and minerals it fits two themes at once. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
The VPcoins catalogue includes both modern polymer issues and banknotes of past eras.
