On 26 April 2007 the pandas Le Le and Ying Ying landed in Hong Kong, a gift from the central government for the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. The same year, 2007, appears on this souvenir «30 yuan» token.

The pair came from the Wolong centre in Sichuan and settled at Ocean Park, already home to the pandas presented in 1999. The names Le Le and Ying Ying were chosen to wish Hong Kong joy and prosperity.

This is a privately produced souvenir token: the People’s Bank of China did not issue it, and the denomination is decorative. UNC condition means there are no signs of circulation. A piece for a year-by-year panda set or a gift dated 2007.
