A banknote of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) — one note for the six countries of the zone. The «type 92» range appeared for the bank's twentieth anniversary together with the rule of identical notes: no portrait and no «own» side for each country, and the name of the issuing country vanished from the note — only a code letter and a barcode on the front show it.
The BEAC does not name in words what each denomination depicts, but its security features show that the note bears a mask, which forms against the light from two halves printed on opposite sides. The most interesting security features are a watermark — against the light the letters BEAC appear together with three antelope heads — Derby elands — which make up the bank's official logo and a see-through image — against the light the image of a mask comes together in full — two incomplete motifs printed on the two sides superimpose on each other.
BEAC CFA francs are collected by range, issuing-country letter, year and signature — the identical design makes each country letter a separate item. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Other banknotes of this country and issues on related themes can be found in the VPcoins catalogue.
