A note of the Bank of Namibia. The bank first issued this denomination on 15 September 1993; it has kept the design since then and reworked the security. This note belongs to the 2012 upgrade, when the bank added the protective varnish, the colour-shifting ink and the Janus window thread across the run.
The face carries a portrait of Dr Sam Nujoma, Namibia's founding president. The back shows a springbok antelope: the bank gave the whole Namibian run to antelopes, and the animal tells the note apart faster than the numeral does. The most interesting security features are securicoat protective varnish, optically variable ink (OVI) and a Janus colour-shifting window security thread.
The Namibian run suits a collector: the design of each denomination has not changed since the nineties, and the notes differ by the Governor's signature and the generation of security — that is how the varieties are collected. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
A collection can grow in any direction, and the VPcoins catalogue has options for each of them.
