Cayman Islands 10 Dollars 2018

The 10 dollar banknote was issued by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) in 2018 as part of Series D — the fourth and final series of banknotes featuring a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Series D was introduced in April 2011 as the first complete redesign of Cayman Islands banknotes. The note was printed by De La Rue in England. The prefix D/3 denotes the third issue of this series.

The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the coat of arms of the Cayman Islands, and images of black land crabs (Gecarcinus ruricola). The reverse depicts the wild banana orchid.

Security features include a holographic security thread inscribed "CAYMAN ISLANDS", a watermark featuring a turtle, a CIMA electrotype, and Cornerstones elements.

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean Sea, renowned as one of the world's leading offshore financial centres. The black land crab and banana orchid reflect the archipelago's unique natural environment. The Cayman dollar is pegged to the US dollar at a rate of 1:1.2, making it one of the most stable Caribbean currencies.
