Bolivia 200 Bolivianos 2025
The 200 boliviano banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Bolivia as part of the «Estado Plurinacional» series, introduced in 2018. The series was released with an emphasis on the country's multiculturalism and all its peoples. The note is produced in golden-brown tones on a multicoloured underprint background. Series B denotes a subsequent issue with updated signatures of the president and general manager.
The obverse features portraits of national heroes: Túpac Katari, Bartolina Sisa, and Simón Bolívar against the backdrop of the Casa de la Libertad (House of Freedom) in Sucre. The reverse depicts the ruins of Tiwanaku, the cantuta flower (Cantua buxifolia) — the national flower of Bolivia — and the Andean mountain cat (Leopardus jacobitus) known as «Titi».
Security features include a windowed security thread with a colour-shifting effect, a watermark, and colour-shifting ink on the denomination.
Túpac Katari and Bartolina Sisa were leaders of the Aymara people's uprising against Spanish colonial rule in 1781 and are symbols of the struggle of Bolivia's indigenous peoples. Simón Bolívar was the liberator of South America, after whom the country is named. Tiwanaku is an ancient pre-Columbian city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The VPcoins catalogue includes both modern polymer issues and banknotes of past eras.
