Bermuda 50 dollars 2009 (2012)

A 50 dollars banknote from the “Birds” series issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority on January 1, 2009, with 2012 signatures variant. It was in circulation during a period of stable economic development of the islands. Executed in orange-yellow and multicolored tones. Printed on paper. This banknote is presented in excellent UNC condition.

On the obverse is a white-tailed tropicbird (long-tailed tropical bird), the national bird of Bermuda, in flight among hibiscus flowers. In the lower left corner is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

On the reverse is St. Peter’s Church in St. George’s, the oldest Anglican church in the Western Hemisphere.

The white-tailed tropicbird is a graceful seabird with long tail feathers, symbolizing freedom and the natural beauty of Bermuda. St. Peter’s Church in St. George’s, built in 1612, is one of the oldest surviving European structures in the New World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The banknote reflects Bermuda’s pride in its unique nature and rich colonial historical heritage.
