Barbados 50 dollars 2024 (polymer)
A regular 50 dollar banknote issued by the Central Bank of Barbados in the 2022 series, variant with 2024 date and governor’s signature. Printed on De La Rue’s SAFEGUARD® polymer substrate. Vertical orientation design.
On the obverse — portrait of Errol Walton Barrow, the first Prime Minister of independent Barbados, a key figure in the struggle for independence. Main color — orange and red with multicolored elements. The design features the coat of arms of Barbados, the trident, national symbols, and a holographic element. Inscriptions in English.
On the reverse — depiction of Independence Square in Bridgetown with the statue of Errol Barrow, view of the Careenage, and partial map of the island. Multicolored printing with predominance of orange, red, and yellow tones. The design emphasizes the role of leaders in nation-building, symbols of independence, and the urban environment of Barbados.
Security features (enhanced by the polymer):
- Transparent window with holographic effect and image of Independence Square that changes color when tilted
- Tactile raised marks for the visually impaired — “L” shape made of dots on the reverse
