A note of the current Danish krone series: Danmarks Nationalbank states that the present series — bridges and archaeological finds — dates from 2009, that it was designed by the artist Karin Birgitte Lund and that its motifs are Danish bridges and Danish archaeological finds. The bank issued this denomination on 4 May 2010. The bridge of this denomination is the Old Little Belt Bridge, linking Erritsø in Jutland to Middelfart on Funen. The archaeological find is the Hindsgavl Dagger, which the bank calls the supreme example of flint knapping in the Dagger Period. Both editions are current: the bank states that the 2009 and the 2009A series remain valid means of payment until the new banknote series is launched in 2028. The older series from 1944 to 1997, together with the 1000-krone note, were withdrawn at the end of May 2025.

The most interesting security features are a hologram, a watermark and microtext — the bank names these as the same on the original editions and on the upgraded ones; the window thread — on the upgraded 2009A notes it has become more prominent and has been moved to the side with the bridge motif — it is the easiest way to recognise an upgraded note; and a new surface treatment — the upgraded notes feel slightly stiffer and heavier.

The Danish series is built on one rule: a bridge on one side, an ancient find on the other, both of them real, each with a name and a place. For a collection it is a rare case where a whole run reads as a short course about the country. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
