Christmas through a child’s eyes: on Gibraltar’s 2023 Christmas 2 pounds two children approach a tree surrounded by presents. There are no fairy-tale figures in the scene, only the anticipation of Christmas.

It is an official issue of the Government of Gibraltar, legal tender, minted by the Tower Mint. Above the scene by the tree the reverse reads «CHRISTMAS TWO POUNDS». The obverse carries the portrait of the new monarch: Charles III uncrowned, facing left, with the legend «CHARLES · III · KING OF GIBRALTAR · 2023 ·».

Gibraltar’s Christmas line for 2023 was a broad one: alongside the 2 pounds came a 50 pence, coloured versions of both coins on cards, and stamp and coin covers. This is the standard, uncoloured version.
