The ten zlotys dated 1 March 1940 comes from the new series of notes of occupied Poland bearing that date. The front shows allegorical female figures on the left and right; the back shows a sculpture.
This money was issued by the Bank of Issue in Poland (Bank Emisyjny w Polsce), set up by the German occupation authorities in Kraków; it was headed by the Polish economist Feliks Młynarski, so the notes were popularly called «Kraków zlotys» and «młynarki». The official rate was fixed at 2 zlotys to 1 Reichsmark.
The 1940 ten zlotys belongs in a «Poland in the Second World War» set and in a collection of occupation money: together with the twenty zlotys of the same date it represents the 1940 series. G-VG condition means heavy signs of circulation: many folds and much wear, with possible edge defects — a note that has passed through many hands.
