The Virgin with the Child Jesus, a detail of Perugino’s Madonna with Child, Saint Sebastian and Saint John the Baptist in the Uffizi, fills the centre, with PERUGINO, the dates 1523 and 2023 and the mint mark R on the left, SAN MARINO on the right and the initials MAC of the designer Maria Angela Cassol at bottom right. According to the ECB: mintage 56,000, issued in April 2023.

Commemorative 2 euro coins share the properties and the common side of normal 2 euro coins and are legal tender throughout the euro area. Bimetallic, 25.75 mm, 8.5 g; the outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union. For a euro collection it is one of the national commemorative coins of San Marino.
