Ukraine 10 Hryvnias 2021 "Air Assault Forces of the AFU"

Dedicated to a separate branch of troops belonging to the rapid response forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, characterized by high mobility and autonomy, designed for quick deployment to conduct offensive and assault operations, cover specific directions, as well as encircle the enemy from the air and conduct combat operations in its rear.

Obverse of the coin features: at the top, the inscription УКРАЇНА (in a semicircle), below which are the small State Emblem of Ukraine (left) and the Air Assault Forces insignia of the AFU (right); in the center on a mirrored background — the emblem of the Air Assault Forces of the AFU; the denomination 10 and the graphical symbol of the hryvnia (left of the emblem); the minting year — 2021 (right of the emblem); the inscription ДЕСАНТНО-ШТУРМОВІ ВІЙСЬКА ЗСУ (at the bottom, semicircle); the logo of the Banknote and Coin Factory of the National Bank of Ukraine (under the minting year).

Reverse shows on a mirrored background the symbolic image of an air assault warrior in knight’s armor, with partially opened wings behind — symbol of the protector of the troops — Archangel Michael.
