A commemorative coin in bimetal struck to special uncirculated quality. It marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of Kirovohrad Oblast, one of the regions richest in mineral resources, whose mineral and raw material potential comprises more than 340 deposits. This agrarian and industrial region, rich in fields of black earth, lies in the centre of Ukraine between the Dnipro and the Southern Boh.

The obverse is divided by the bimetal into two circles, the inner with a golden ground and the outer with a silvery one. At the centre of the inner circle is a stylised thematic composition: at the centre, the M. L. Kropyvnytskyi Kirovohrad Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre, the theatre of the coryphaei; on the right below the theatre building, the hyperboloid tower of V. H. Shukhov and, lower, the symbol of the peaceful atom; on the left below the theatre, a seed drill; and on the left of the inner circle, ears of wheat and a sunflower head. On the inner circle below the theatre is the year of minting, 2014. On the outer ring, at the top by the rim, is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, flanked by the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ ⌂ БАНК УКРАЇНИ, and on the lower part of the ring runs the semicircular denomination in words, П’ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ. On the right of the obverse, by the rim, is the mark of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine, and on the left, mirroring it, a single ornamental element, a large relief dot.

The reverse is likewise divided by the bimetal into two circles, the inner golden and the outer silvery. At the centre of the inner circle is a large image of the arms of the oblast. On the outer ring are the legends: at the top КІРОВОГРАДСЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ and, on the lower part, the semicircular legend ЗАСНОВАНА У 1939 РОЦІ.
