An anniversary commemorative coin made of bimetal, manufactured to ensure the usual level of coinage quality, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Crimea’s entry into Ukraine. In February 1954, the Crimean region was transferred to the Ukrainian SSR. On February 12, 1991, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine “On the restoration of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic”. On April 24, 1992, it was renamed the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is an autonomous administrative-territorial unit of Ukraine, its integral part. Located in the south of the state on the Crimean Peninsula. Area - 27,000 km2, population - 2 million 221 thousand people.
The obverse of the coin is divided into circle-shaped fields by bimetal, the inner circle is golden in color, the outer circle is a ring, silver in color. On the obverse of the coin there is a background image of the administrative map of Ukraine, against its background a stylized image of a sheaf of 25 grain ears tied with an overhang, which symbolize Ukraine. In the center of the inner ring against the background of a sheaf, in the foreground there is an image of the small State Emblem of Ukraine, on the left side of the sheaf in the inner circle, the year of minting of the coin is indicated - “2004”, below the sheaf there is a sign of the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine, below the map under the image of the peninsula, a horizontal inscription - “CRIMEA” (CRIM). On the outer ring at the top, in a semicircle, is the inscription “UKRAINE” (UKRAINE), at the bottom of the obverse in a semicircle is the inscription of the coin’s denomination, “5 HRYVEN” (5 HRYVEN).
The reverse of the coin is also divided into two fields made of bimetal, in the middle there is an inner circle of golden color, and an outer circle, outlined by the overweight of the sheaf, is a ring of silver color. In the center of the inner circle is an image of the coat of arms of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, below it is a stylized ornament of grape bunches. On the upper border of the inner circle there is a two-line horizontal inscription, - “50 YEARS” (50 ROKIV), in the lower part of the outer ring of the reverse, an inscription in a semicircle, - “ENTRY OF THE CRIMEA INTO UKRAINE” (ENTRY OF THE CRIMEA TO THE WAREHOUSE OF UKRAINE).
