In the bank's catalogue «Notes and Coins of Nepal» this is type NRB-76, which the bank dates to 10 April 1997. Printed by Giesecke & Devrient GmbH (Germany). The note carries the signature of Governor Satyendra Pyara Shrestha. The denomination of this note is an unusual one, 250 rupees, and it stands in the catalogue as a single type: the bank has no other type of that denomination.
The face carries King Birendra, the Hanuman Dhoka palace and the parliament building. The back carries a cow in the fields and Mount Machhapuchhre. A note of Nepal Rastra Bank.
Nepalese rupees are collected by the types of the bank's catalogue: one and the same design may have five or six types, told apart by the Governor's signature and by the printer. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Every item in the VPcoins catalogue tells a small story about its country and era.
