Dr José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia, whom the Central Bank of Paraguay calls the chief ideologue and defender of the country’s independence, appears on the obverse of the ten thousand guaraníes of series F (2010). The reverse shows the scene of 14–15 May 1811, when the conspirators decided to separate Paraguay from Spain: a reproduction of a painting by Guillermo Da Re.
The value on the reverse is repeated in Guaraní. The legal tender clause now refers to Law No. 489 of 29 June 1995, the organic law of the Central Bank of Paraguay. The 2010 note was printed by the Brazilian mint, Casa da Moeda do Brasil; the security thread changes colour when tilted.
A note from the paper run of the ten thousand of 2004–2011, distinguished by series, year and printer: for a Paraguay collection it is a convenient line to collect by date. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
VPcoins brings coins and banknotes from all over the world together in one catalogue.
