The 100 dirhams dated 2012 brings together nomadic tradition and green energy. The back shows the Moussem of Tan-Tan, the annual gathering of nomadic tribes of southern Morocco: a tent in the desert and riders on camels, and behind them the turbines of a wind farm, a symbol of renewable energy. The Moussem of Tan-Tan is inscribed by UNESCO on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The front of every denomination in the series follows one concept: a portrait of Mohammed VI, the royal crown, the coat of arms and an ornament inspired by Moroccan doors, while the back is framed by patterns from Moroccan carpets. Held to the light, the note shows a watermark of the king and the value numeral. The series was printed by the national works Dar As-Sikkah and signed by the government representative Khalid Safir and Governor Abdellatif Jouahri.
For a Morocco collection it is a key denomination of the 2012 series, and in a «camels on banknotes» topical set it sits beside a symbol of future energy, a story that is easy to tell. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
A banknote from the VPcoins catalogue is a gift that is interesting to examine and has a story worth telling.
