The Central Bank of Kenya issued the «New Generation» series after the promulgation of a new Constitution which, in the bank's words, ushered in hope for «a Newly Reborn and Prosperous Kenya». The bank chose the series' images after hearing the public's views: they were to show the drivers of that prosperity.
The front of every denomination shows the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, one of the country's most recognisable landmarks, and a dove as a symbol of a peaceful Kenya. The back is devoted to green energy — wind, geothermal and solar power: one of Africa's biggest wind farms stands at Loyangalani, and geothermal generation at Olkaria has made Kenya a global leader in clean energy.
The bank teaches a three-step check — «feel, look, tilt»: raised bars can be felt on the edge — one bar on this denomination; against the light you see a lion's-head watermark, the letters CBK and the value; when tilted, the security thread changes from red to green.
Five denominations, five themes, from energy to Parliament, with the shared front featuring the conference centre tying them into one run; the 2019 and 2024 notes differ in signatures and security thread, so a Kenya collection keeps them as a pair. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
