Dr José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia, whom the Central Bank of Paraguay calls the chief ideologue and defender of independence, and Guillermo Da Re’s painting of the decisive days of 14–15 May 1811: the design of the ten thousand guaraníes in its updated version, a note of 2015.
The bank suggests checking the note in three moves: touch, look, tilt. The raised print of the portrait can be felt by touch; tilt the note to the light and the hidden text «BCP 10000» appears, while the security thread changes colour as it moves.
The current version of the ten thousand, issued since 2015: paired with the paper notes of 2004–2011, it shows the same design receiving new security. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
If this banknote has caught your interest, the VPcoins catalogue has other issues from the same issuer worth seeing.
