The 2004 five ringgit is a polymer note, and instead of the usual watermark it has a clear window with a shadow image of the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya and an embossed numeral 5.
The front shows Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong, supreme ruler of independent Malaya. The back is devoted to construction and modern Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Petronas Twin Towers and a geographical map.
In a Malaysia collection it is the polymer five that preceded today’s polymer five ringgit with the hornbill, and in a «polymer notes of the world» selection an early Malaysian example with a clear window. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Collectors who focus on a single country will find its other banknote issues in the VPcoins catalogue as well.
