A note of the Bank of Mexico's A family, among those the bank has withdrawn from circulation. This is money from the years when inflation drove the values up: the bank put this denomination into circulation on 2 September 1991. The bank gives the size as 157 × 67 mm: in those years Mexico printed every denomination to one size. The note has no payment force: the bank lists it among those withdrawn from circulation — the old-count pesos lost their force when the new peso came in. To a collector such notes are interesting precisely because they are no longer money: they carry their own history, from «la gitana» and the tehuana to the generals on the high values.
The face carries General Plutarco Elías Calles and the façade of the Bank of Mexico. The back shows a Sonora landscape with a white-tailed deer.
UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
The VPcoins catalogue unites coins and banknotes from many countries and eras.
