The two dollars of Singapore's Ship Series, the 1984–1999 series built on the theme of sea-going vessels and the country's modern development. The front shows a tongkang sailing boat among smaller craft, with the sun and the arms.
The back shows the Chingay procession — people of the city's different communities at a festival held during the Chinese New Year — with orchids on the left. Like the previous one, the 1992 issue was printed by the British firm Thomas De La Rue.
The two-dollar tongkang was printed over several years by different printers, and for the variety collector that is a task of its own: gathering the issues by year and by printing works. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
More banknotes from this country and this era are waiting in the VPcoins catalogue.
