Norodom Sihanouk as a young monk, a portrait of the future king, is on the front of the 100-riel note of 2014, beside a statue of the Buddha and the corner stone of a Khmer balustrade with a five-headed naga. The back shows the Silver Pagoda, the Wat Preah Keo Morakot temple within the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, and a statue of the Buddha.
The note entered circulation on 14 January 2015 together with the new 500 riels and succeeded the 100 riels of 2001.
A piece for a «Buddhism on banknotes» set and for a collection of Sihanouk portraits: on this note he appears not as king but as a young monk. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
